Piping Designer

As one of our Piping Designers, you will work with our design team to create accurate manufacturing drawings and bills of material, which include all client-specific requirements.Key Contributions: Provides piping design, layout, and checking for design documentsReview engineering drawings and designsDevelop bills of materials with respect to piping designInterpret and administer various pipe specificationsInterpretincorporate requirements in the RFQClient SpecsAble to route all piping and skid assembly parts to ANSI CodesDemonstrate knowledge and proficiency with electrical drawings, piping ISOs, P&IDs and pressurized equipmentAdminister the drawing vault and revision controlsSupport Project Managers in documenting project informationDemonstrate consistent attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to meet project deadlines in all work productsAssist in resolving manufacturability issues with our manufacturing team Requirements An Associate's Degree or equivalent experience in an engineering environment is required, as well as a minimum of 5 years of energy industry design experience; 3 years of which must be in oil & gas equipment or facilities, is required.The following types of experience and knowledge are preferred but not required:- Minimum 3 years of experience in industry tolerancing knowledge for the product designs, such as GD&T.- Minimum 5 years of detailing Piping ISOs, and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).- Minimum 3 years of using Product Data Management andor Product Lifecycle Management platforms such as Vault.- Demonstrable knowledge of documentation control andor technical drawing revision change control and obsoletion practices.- Demonstrable knowledge of fitting, welding, and assembly processes.Excellent technical proficiency with Mechanical Design using Solid modeling software and technical tools and proficiency with Microsoft Office is required.The ability to work with minimal supervision and to deliver assignments to meet due dates is required.Effective problem-solving skills, while remaining creative and innovative, are required.The ability to effectively communicate and defend design concepts to both internal and external customers is required.The ability to demonstrate effective communication skills to work with our internal functional teams is required, including frequent communication with the project management team and all organizational levels, clients, and third-party vendors.Minimum 3 years of experience in routing all piping to the applicable code including ANSI Codes, ASME Code, AWS welding Standards, and OSHA standards is required.Manufacturing experience is strongly preferred but not required.CADWorx, NavisWorks Isogen, Excel, or Plant 3d experience is strongly preferred but not required.Experience in an ISO 9000 environment is preferred but not required.
