Fire Protection EngineerResponsibilitiesEstablishes, designs, and specifies project-appropriate engineering requirementsLeads the execution of site investigations and observationsPrepares narratives, reports, calculations, drawing and specification documents in accordance with a high degree of quality, yet with regard to project schedule and budget constraintsPerforms cross-discipline discussions and coordinationAssists with reviews of engineering documents for quality and compliance with code and program requirementsParticipates in Construction Administration by reviewing shop drawings and submittals, responding to RFI's, solving construction issues, and performing site visits to assess general conformance with the design conceptPlans and directs the work of EITs and designersMentors and encourages the development of junior professionals and designersIndependently attends client meetings and communicates with clients, consultants, contractors, and others during various stages of project developmentAssists with marketing and business development activities including building relationship with key clients and strategic partners, proposal writing, fee estimates, and client interviewsTravel for marketing and project-related activities will be requiredQualifications4 + years licensed experienceABET- accredited degree in Engineering or Architectural EngineeringRegistered Professional Engineer requiredGeneral CharacteristicsDemonstrated practical knowledge of codes and related industry standardsProduction experience preparing deliverable drawing sets in Revit and AutoCAD requiredDemonstrated knowledge and proficiency using industry standard calculation software requiredSelf-motivated team player with strong interpersonal, communication, writing, and presentation skillsAbility to deal with competing priorities and manage time appropriately
