Job Type Full-timeDescriptionCOME BUILD HOPE WITH US!MHP hiring a full time Culinary Health Coach to leading a comprehensive food service program for participants who live at MHP's Community Residential Rehabilitation (CRR), Homeward Bound. The Culinary Health Coach provides assistance to Homeward Bound residents such as menu planning, food preparation, supporting nutritional and dietarywellness, kitchen hygiene and safe food handling practices, etc. as they move towards increased independent living opportunities, while coordinating with all over wellness activities at the residence. Populations served include participants with lived experience of homelessness, mental health conditions andor addiction and who are in recovery.The position is located at 1305 Oak Lane, Philadelphia, PA, 19126, Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, with a starting salary rate of $19.00hour. Join us in revolutionizing workplace well-being and raising the bar for mental health excellence!WHAT YOU'LL DOIn collaboration with the participants (and keeping dietary restrictions in mind), creates menus for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks on a weekly basis; prepares and serves lunch and dinner Monday through Friday. Provides opportunities for family style meals at least one time a pletes advance preparation, as possible, for weekend meals; coordinates and supports weekend staff with food pletes inventory or food and prepares monthly food orders commensurate with the meals planned for the week within Homeward Bound's budget, and submits them to Program Manager for approval.Maintains kitchen supplies and equipment; reports equipment issues to supervisor as anize weekly shopping trip with participants to purchase fresh produce to be used in food preparation during the week.Provides opportunities for participants to develop skills in kitchen safety, basic cooking techniques, planning menus, budgeting and grocery shopping through discussions, groups, and recreational activities during the shift that relate to food service. Provides resources for participants in all areas food service when required.Works with staff and participants to maintain a vegetable garden during appropriate seasons; incorporates the produce into meals.Manages crisis situations calmly and respectfully and protect the rights of all participants.Practices safe kitchen skills; ensures all kitchen maintenance and cleaning is done, including the walls, oven, stove, ventilation hood, refrigerator, countertops, and dishwashing. Requirements High School DiplomaGED required.2+ years of related work experience in food services (including internships and volunteer work).Must possess a SafeServ Certification upon hire.Credentialed as a Certified Peer Specialist is a plus.Must possess a valid driver's license.Must possess basic computer skills to perform job duties including desktop computing, e-mail, time sheet management, electronic health records, internet research, etc. and the ability to learn software applications relevant to your position.Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.Certified or has the ability to be certified in First AidCPR.PHYSICAL DEMANDSSit at a desk with ergonomically appropriate equipment.Lift up to 15 lbs.Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance and be available for flexible work schedule, including evenings and weekends andor work holidaysovertime as needed.Ability to drive a multi-passenger van (including at night) and physically support passengers during ingressegress as needed andor assist disabled individuals in an emergency evacuation.Walk around multiple MHP locations and in the community in areas that may not be handicap accessible. May be required to have the ability to enter, exit and drive personal or agency vehicles andor public transportation depending on the needs of the department.Remain awake during entire shift, including break times.Frequent talking and listening. Must be able to talk, listen, retain information and speak clearly and accurately; possible exposure to loud andor vulgar language and hostile gestures.Ability to perform the essential job functions while meeting qualitative andor quantitative productivity standards safely and successfully with or without a reasonable accommodation.
