Accounts Payable Associate

Built on meritocracy, our unique company culture rewards self-starters and those who are committed to doing what is best for our customers.Brown & Brown is seeking an Accounts Payable Associate to join our growing team in New Hyde Park, NY.Under the general supervision of the Accounts Payables Team Leader, the Accounts Payable Associate is responsible for ensuring accuracy when processing insurance payables.How You Will Contribute:Responsible for processing Broker direct bill commission checks in identified vestigate return premium checks, endorsements and overpayments to determine and take appropriate next steps not limited to printing invoices, processing checks, issuing checks, and mailing refund.Process ACH requests sent by Brokers for reinstatement requests.Process company advances on a rotating basis.Correspond with Brokers and Finance Companies via phone, mail and email to respond to questions, investigate and resolve issues not limited to commission discrepancies, return premiums, credits on account, and follow up on outstanding items.Frequently coordinate and correspond with other internal departments.Ensure all correspondence and requests are documented and attached to the appropriate file in the appropriate systems.Skills & Experience to Be Successful:Bachelor's in Accounting or FinanceProficient with MS Office SuiteExceptional telephone demeanorAbility to maintain a high level of confidentiality1 - 2 years' experience in a similar positionPay Range$27.00 - $31.00 HourlyThe pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, andor budget for the role.Teammate Benefits & Total Well-BeingWe go beyond standard benefits, focusing on the total well-being of our teammates, including:Health Benefits: MedicalRx, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Disability Insurance Financial Benefits: ESPP; 401k; Student Loan Assistance; Tuition Reimbursement Mental Health & Wellness: Free Mental Health & Enhanced Advocacy ServicesBeyond Benefits: Paid Time Off, Holidays, Preferred Partner Discounts and more.
