In this role, you will play a critical part in managing and overseeing the financial aspects of sponsored and non-sponsored projects at Arizona State University. This position ensures compliance with federal, state, and university regulations related to post-award activities, and provides financial support and guidance to faculty and staff involved in research projects.An ideal candidate works well in a fast-paced environment, can multi-task while maintaining close attention to detail, provides high level customer service to both the university and external community, is a quick learner who is intuitive about business practices and procedures, is comfortable with database systems, and utilizes sound judgement.Essential Duties:Analyzes, reconciles, and prepares reports on financial information on sponsored, local and foundation accounts on a monthly basis.Provides budgetingforecasting support for all assigned accounts.Assists with the Graduate Student hiring process.Will maintain funding assignments for all payroll within assigned accounts, including payroll adjustments and corrections.Maintains and audits unit-wide financial documentation and files and may be required to provide additional documentation for University level audits.Reviews account expenditure requests in accordance with established financial guidelines and policies, which may include verifying accuracy for transactions of goods, services, and equipment.Tracks effort of Faculty and research staff to ensure compliance with sponsor teracts regularly with and provides high quality customer service to faculty members conducting sponsored research, including scheduling recurring meetings with assigned faculty members.Manage post-award actions including but not to no-cost extensions, re-budgets and ad-hoc sponsor requests.Reviews and approves travel requests.Desired Qualifications:Experience in Higher Education.Experience working in post-award management with sponsors such as NIH, DOD, NSF, and private foundations.Experience with local and gift accounts.Experience with Workday (For Financial and HR purposes), ERA, Concur, Microsoft Office programs and querying toolsExperience working in a team environment with constantly changing priorities.Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and independent decision-making skills.High level of attention to detail, communication and organizational skillsDemonstrated ability to effectively navigate and respond to highly complex and competing situations involving multiple entities.Skilled in defining tasks, responsibilities, and outcomes, with experience in resource planning to achieve project or department goals and timelines.Demonstrated knowledge using online resources to retrieve or submit information.Experience taking initiative, being diplomatic and pro-active, while effectively managing stressful situations.Working Environment:Position is open for an in-person environment, hybrid work environment or fully remote work environment. Regular use standard office equipment including but not limited to computer workstationlaptop (keyboard, monitor, mouse), printer, fax, calculator, copier, telephone, and associated computertechnology -person activities are performed in a regular, climate-controlled office setting.Both are subject to extended periods of being in a stationary position.Ability to clearly communicate and exchange accurate information to perform essential duties.
