Industrial Maintenance Mechanic3rd Shift Metals USA is seeking an industrial maintenance mechanic in York PA. Metals USA is a solid, growth oriented, carbon steel (plate, beam and tube) distribution center servicing the defense, commercial, construction, aerospace and fabrication industries.The Maintenance Technician, performs basic diagnostic tests, evaluates equipment performance, performs preventive maintenance of equipment and troubleshoots &performs equipmentsystems repairs both routine and emergency. Position does not perform production work but must operate equipment to the extent necessary to perform maintenance activities. Responsibilities:Repairs, services and inspects facility equipment and property to include: overhead cranes, production machinery, material handling equipment and facility plies with company and OSHA safety policies and safe work practices, e.g. lock outtag out, safety data sheets and hazardous material usage.Operates industrial equipment and observes mechanical operation to determine efficiency and to detect problemsInspects or tests damaged machine parts, and marks defective areas or advises supervisor of repair needs.Performs building and equipment maintenance, repair and improvements. Performs preventive maintenance on CNC machinery, electrical and hydraulic systems, overhead cranes and other fabricating stalls, replaces, or changes machine parts, attachments and new equipment according to production specificationsReassembles machines after the completion of repair or maintenance workLubricates or applies adhesives or other materials to machines, machine parts, or other equipment, according to specified proceduresRecords production, repair, and machine maintenance informationReads maintenance repair work orders and specifications to determine machine and equipment requiring repair or maintenanceInspects, operates or test machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions. Sets up and operates machines, and adjust controls to regulate operationsCollaborates with other workers to repair or move machines, machine parts, or equipmentMaintains equipment files and orders spare-parts inventory on service center equipment and work effectively with operations to implement a preventive maintenance program to improve equipment uptime (or reliability)Drives company motor vehicle (non-DOT) occasionally for local pick-up for parts or equipment Plans and lay out repair work, using diagrams, drawings, blueprints, maintenance manuals, or schematic diagrams. Notifies management of any problems that might affect production schedules.
