Overview:The TMS Technician Trainee (TMST-T) is an integral part of the Advanced Treatments Team. Tasked with the responsibility for administering and observing patients during TMS treatment sessions. The TMST-T will handle items that are within their purview and site location, including answering phones, checking patients inout, and accepting payment for treatment. The hours for this position are 10:30 am - 7:00 pm. Main Responsibilities:The TMST-T works as part of the Advanced Treatments department under the direction of the Interventional Treatments Director and Clinic Managers. The primary focus is to ensure that patient concerns or questions regarding TMS treatments are addressed and responded to in a timely and professional manner.Learn and perform standard TMS protocols on patientsEngage in shadowing a TMS Tech 1 or TMS Tech 2 for a period of 60 daysAbility to complete treatments alone after 180 daysComplete Certification Training and TestingProvide follow-up phone calls to patients as neededReturn or forward voicemails as appropriateMonitor incoming e-mails for the shared TMS e-mail inboxKnowledge regarding FMLADisability forms for completionKnow the resources and education material available to patientsComplete demographic updates in patient chartsCheck-in patients for treatmentAssist with referral sourcesMaintain clean and safe environment for patientsAttend Quarterly TMS MeetingsOther duties as assignedNOTICE: This job description does not imply that these are the only tasks to be performed by the employee occupying this position. You also acknowledge that you have been trained on all tasks for which you are responsible.RequirementsRequirements:A successful TMST-T will have excellent organizational skills, sound judgement, and basic understanding of the TMS process to aid in making quick and accurate determinations. Experience in a(n) healthcare office or facility, a plus!Experience with TMS Treatments not required training providedHigh School diploma or equivalent required, College degree preferredExcellent interpersonal skills to interact with patients and their familiesDisplay empathy and compassion towards patients and their familiesAbility speak, read, and write English fluently requiredMust demonstrate proficiency in the use of a Windows Computer, Adobe and Microsoft office productsDemonstrate skill in following detailed instructionsDemonstrate basic knowledge of patient billing and schedulingAbility to use simple forms of math for calculating change.Ability to learn and understand positioning procedures for TMSMust be able to lift 10 pounds Must be able to adjust the positioning chair to patient comfortMust be able to maneuver the TMS coil (approximately 5 pounds) into proper positionMust be able to maintain the coil position throughout the course of treatment Must achieve proficiency in the following programsElectronic Medical RecordInsurance eligibility and verification systemsWaystar payment systemAny other systems used in conjunction with the positionAbility to work independently and provide regular reports as neededMust always adhere to HIPAA and HIITECH guidelines Salary Description $16 - $ 18
