Our support staff are hardworking clean freaks who make sure everything, from chairs to tables to floors are clean as a whistle and well organized. They uphold a meticulous understanding of our ever-changing food and beer menus and deliver items to tables in a swift and professional manner. Our support staff are responsible for efficiently cleaning and resetting tables, delivering food and beer efficiently, assisting guests and fellow coworkers wherever needed, all while upholding Surly standards of customer service and cleanliness. You will be expected to do Bussing and Food Running.The starting hourly rate is $15.57hr. The position will be eligible for tips upon completion of the training period. This position will also earn SafeSick Time per state requirements. Beer Hall Food Runner Wait Assist Busser positions report to the Front of House Managers Basic requirements include: High school diploma or GED. TIPS certification strongly preferred. If you do not have it, Surly will provide this training. The employee must frequently lift andor move up to 55 pounds. Able to perform physical work in a loud environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet andor humid conditions. An outgoing personality and exemplary customer service orientation required. Fantastic multitasker who can maintain friendly composure amid stress and high volume. A willingness to work as part of a team is essential. Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on the restaurant's needs; including nights, weekends, and holidays. Basic responsibilities include: Customer Service is priority #1. It can also ruin a guest's experience. Make sure you come to work prepared to work and engage your fellow staff and our guests. Maintain spotless dining room floor, sanitized work area and seating areas. Double check that flatware and glassware are immaculate. Carry dirty dishes from dining room to kitchen and always maintain dish pit etiquette. Wipe tabletops and chairs and other surfaces with proper sanitization procedure. Wipe up any spills to ensure floors remain clean and dry. Sweepmop floors and shake out mats. Replenish supply of clean napkins, silverware, glassware, dishes, and condiments in dining room and wait stations. Run food from kitchen to tableside. Properly split and remove trash, recycling, compost to corresponding dumpsters. Wear gloves, Masks and adhering to cleanliness procedures. Be on time, alert, clean and ready for pre-shift. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment for your shift's duration. Ability to work on your feet for extended hours of time. Stock Wait Stations with ice, glassware, and other items as needed. Understands that cleanliness, safety, and sanitation are a major priority. Maintaining an orderly, clean, and safe work environment (sweeps, mops, keeps aisles clear, etc.) is required. Maintain a clean dining room floor and seating areas. Double check that flatware and glassware are immaculate (flatware should be clean and without spots; glassware should have beautiful lacing when serving beer). Help to maintain our restroom cleanliness during your shift (Including wiping mirrors, refilling towels and soaps, and cleaning up any mess that may occur. Understanding the food specs and beer specs. Be able to explain the food and beer in detail to guests when bringing to the table. Helping the Expo with any food tasks (filling ramekins, washing platter boards, etc.).
