Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other federal agencies, all over the world.The Senior Construction Manager is a full-time role responsible for supporting the mission capability of the Veteran Affairs Pittsburgh Facilities Management Services work group.Our salary range for this position, based on the market data, is $100-$120kyear (actual offer varies depending on experience and qualifications).Key responsibilities:Provide design and construction project management support to the Facilities Engineering Projects SectionReview and recommend approval or disapproval on submittals of contract deliverables, material data, equipment data, system data, shop drawings and as-built drawingsPreparation of correspondence, change order requirements (as needed)Support and assist in the development of government drawings, specifications, cost estimates and justification documentsReview contractor costs, proposed work and recommendationsCoordinate and participate in all daily, weekly, special, partial, pre-final and final inspectionsPrepare inspection reports, provide recommendations on sign-off of completed projects, prepare final closeout paperwork and custody receiptCoordinate training on new equipment for identified medical staffPerforms other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate. Qualifications to be successful in the role: Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering or Construction ManagementAt least 7 years in the healthcare environment or medical center construction experience exposed in the design-bid-build and design-build projectsSound understanding of field construction concepts, principles and practices applicable to civil, mechanical, electrical andor environmental engineering concerned with design, layout and supervision of construction operationsStrong knowledge of safety and occupational health principles, practices, procedures, laws and regulations as they relate to engineering performance requirementsBackground on safety and quality management in the healthcare construction field Visit our career site to know more about our other openings.Why Planate?Planate Management Group is an Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity Employer.
