Deadline: 03072025Role Title: Senior Investment AnalystContract Type: Fixed-Term (June 2025 - June 2026)Reporting To: Managing Director, Investments (dotted line reporting to Director, Impact & Operations andor Head of PolicyInnovative Finance)ProgramDepartmentUnit Name: Soros Economic Development FundLocation: New YorkTeam Name: Soros Economic Development FundRole Purpose: Investment Team (70%)Support the development of investment themesstrategies.Lead relevant landscapingbenchmarking exercises to identify and develop new investment opportunities in line with SEDF's investment strategies.Support the management of investment processes, including:-Ensuring all deals, and deal details, at every stage of investment process, are properly catalogued in SEDF's database and other management systems.-Drafting investment recommendations, from pre-concept notes to concept notes to final investment memosContribute to due diligence, including:-Supporting Investment Principals and the Managing Director in developing and executing diligence workplans-Developing financial models and financial analysis-Undertaking risk analysis-Contributing to impact and ESG analysisContribute to forging strategic partnerships for SEDF at portfolio and individual deal level - both within Open Society Foundations and externally with key stakeholders (impact investors, MDBsDFIs, expert consultants, etc.).Support asset management, including overseeing creative ways to add value to SEDF investees.Contribute to the refinementimprovement of SEDF's investment processes and systems, as needed, including memos and documentation, reporting, database management, etc.Policy and Innovative Finance, Impact & Operations (20%)Support a variety of projects and initiatives related to SEDF's impact investment strategy and execution.Drive special projects that advance the SEDF's investment, program or policy priorities with guidance from the CEO, Director of Policy and Innovative Finance andor Director of Impact and Operations.Support, as needed, strategy development and implementation, operations, investment processesincluding deal diligence, execution, internal and external communication, impact measurement and management, policy work, communications, partner and stakeholder management.Special projects might include helping SEDF to: develop sectoral or geographic strategies; research investable opportunities in target sectorsfields; contribute to improving SEDF internal processestemplatesoperating procedures; generate content for SEDF's communications activities; help to organize and present SEDF's impact data and other tasks to be assigned as needed by SEDF.SEDF's overall internal operational excellence (10%) Support to prepare materials for and meetings with OSF leadership, SEDF Advisory Board, External Advisors to Investment Committee, and other key OSF and SEDF stakeholdersCoordinate agendas and materials for leadership meetings, team retreats; The final offer is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set and level of experience.
