Alignment between Standards of Excellence (SoE) and the district's Theory of Action helps ensure that principals are able to focus on scholar achievement and that central office supports are timely and effective.Our Vision for Learning in a Post-Pandemic World:In our pursuit of a more fair, just, and good system of education, we want each of our learners, both each of our scholars and each of their educators, to be individually and collectively presented with academically intellectually complex tasks that are worthy of their productive struggle and allow them authentic opportunities to demonstrate their work and their learning of academic content and transferable skills in a joyful and adventurous environment.THE OPPORTUNITY: Location: Aa AssignedReports to: Manager, Technology and BusinessDepartment: Curriculum and Instruction (Prek-5)Number of position (s): Filling multiple vacanciesPay rate: $13.91 per hour (Part-time - 10 hours a week)Union: SEIU District 1199ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESContribute to the creation of a safe and welcoming environment for all studentsInteract with school students, staff, and parents in a professional, appropriate mannerMonitor and supervise students during bathroom, lunch, play time, nap time, and other times, as needed, in order to ensure staffing ratios are met at all times (10:1)Guide students to and from the playground, lunchroom, bathroom, and classroom in a safe mannerAssist and guide students as they line up for lunch and return to the classroomPrepare students and classroom eating area for lunchEncourage and reinforce student use of good eating mannersAssists children in opening packages and using utensils, as neededEncourage and assist children with eating lunchSupervise children in disposing of refuseProvide cleaning functions related to student lunch processes, including cleaning of tables and floorEnsure all cleaning supplies are kept out of students' reachSet up and put away student cots or mats in preparation for nap timeRespond to emergency, safety, andor student medical situations andor injuries as neededComplete injury notifications, safety logs, and incident reports as neededAssist teacher and or paraprofessional with non-instructional tasks as neededAttend in-service trainings when requiredComply with the Ohio Department of Education preschool licensing rules including the maintenance of a preschool staff licensing fileQUALIFICATIONSHigh School Diploma or GEDMeet all Ohio Department of Education requirements related to working with preschool studentsExperience working with childrenGood attendance and work record in previous employmentStrong interpersonal skillsWORKING CONDITIONSPHYSICAL DEMANDSThe characteristics listed below are representative of the work environment typically encountered by an individual while performing the essential duties of this position.
