We work with community partners to support people in reaching their full health potential.About the Role:The purpose of Housing Stabilization Services is to increase long-term housing stability in the community and avoid future periods of homelessness. Services provided will strongly emphasize personal goal setting and developing strategies to achieve them, skill building, guest advocacy, and bringing awareness of current NorthPoint programs, services and resources to support, increase self-sufficiency and improve the lives of individuals and families who reside in North Minneapolis and surrounding suburbs.The Housing Stability Case Manager will coordinate, facilitate and support individuals and families to stabilize, maintain and improve their current housing. These services are targeted to people who are at risk of becoming homeless.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Sociology or closely related field, or Associates Degree with two (2) years of case management experience in a non-profit setting with homless or marginalized communities, or a High School Diploma or GED with four (4) years experience in case management in a non-profit setting with homeless or marginalized communities. Minimum of two (2) years experience in housing related position and demonstrated competency with federal, state and local housing subsidies and work with homeless andor low income individuals andor families.Must have knowledge of community, housing, educational and economic resources and human services in North Minneapolis.Experience with developing and delivering culturally responsive services.Experience negotiating lease terms, fees and deposits with potential landlords.Experience facilitating group educational andor training sessions. Experience with Real Estate transactions and basic Mortgage qualifications Excellent oral, written and group communication skills.Must be proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and computer client tracking databases.Valid driver's license, proof of current insurance, a reliable vehicle and with no more than 3 moving violations in the last five years.
