The company's mission is to revolutionize the premium cataract surgery experience by allowing surgeons to partner with their patients to achieve optimized results for every unique eye.OVERVIEW:The Mechanical Engineer Intern will be part of the development team for our Light Delivery Device. Responsibilities will include design and development of components related to the Light Delivery Device. This Mechanical Engineer will demonstrate validity of design and manufacturing processes including tooling and fixtures, assembly process developmentqualification, and process documentation. This individual will also support key accessories to the LDD and have regular interactions with the other functions including but not limited to Operations, Quality, and Regulatory. RequirementsESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Support development and sustaining roles of Light Delivery Device (part design, dimensioning, tolerancing, and detailing) and accessories.Perform a supporting role in detailed analyses to ensure product performance, reliability and manufacturability in addition to documenting the design and development.Support development tools and fixtures to support device assembly and performance testing and transfer to manufacturing.Support the development and implementation of manufacturing validation processes and test methods Support process improvement initiatives to enhance production efficiency, as well as ensure business continuity and regulatory compliance.Supports and assists in the development of engineering documents.REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Exposed in CAD software, SolidWorks a plus. Familiar with tolerance analysis a plusEffective analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to apply creative solutions to challenges.The ability to establish priorities and build enthusiasm for projects.Excellent communication skills in both oral and written formats, as well as excellent listening and problem-solving skills.The ability to interface effectively with all levels and functions within the organization.EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and TRAINING:Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field. Work experience, not a prerequisite, but beneficial for the position.Training to be completed per the training plan for this position as maintained in the document control system.The training requirements on TRN-10007 Insider Trading Policy, TRN-10008 Global Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption Policy and TRN-10009 Code of Business Conducts and Ethics must be diligently completed within 15 days from the hiring date and on an annual PUTER SKILLS:Word ProcessingSpreadsheet Software Salary Description $23.00hr - $27.00hr
