In many instances we out-compete those ranges for well-qualified candidates.JOB SUMMARYThe Commissioning Senior Technical Project Manager provides technical support and leadership to plan, schedule and execute full life cycle commissioning of critical facilities on a programmatic basis. This person participates in the MEP design review process and participates in functional testing of complex electrical and mechanical systems, with a focus on higher level programmatic details.The Commissioning Senior Technical Project Manager is responsible for supporting all aspects of a project. This person will work as part of the project team and interact closely with the owner, designers, contractors, subcontractors and other trades on projects in mission critical environments.The role includes developing and evaluating bid proposals, developing commissioning plans and schedules, facilitating communication and ensuring compliance with owner's requirements, applicable laws and specifications.The Commissioning Senior Technical Project Manager will dedicate increased time on-site at the outset of new projects, driving commissioning processes and equipping project teams with the skills and knowledge required for independent operation. As projects advance, their role will transition to one of remote oversight and guidance, with reduced on-site involvement.The Commissioning Senior Technical Project Manager will be self-directed on day-to-day work and independently performs most responsibilities. Will lead project teams of complex scope and broader programs. Will coordinate activities of other personnel. Assists in the development of policies and procedures. This person will communicate and operate in line with organizational goals and values, as well as departmental objectives.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSProgram DevelopmentDevelop approach, processes and standards for first of kind program implementationLearn client value system and requirements, including scope, guidelines and standardsAdapt and optimize program to achieve client objectivesProvide client with experience-based consultation and recommendations for scoping and approachDevelop testing plans and procedures for complex, first of kind projectsEnsure adherence to scope, guidelines and standardsDevelop commissioning plans and proceduresPrepare pre-functional checklistsPrepare functional performance test scriptsComprehensive Commissioning Management and On-site Transition ResponsibilitiesProject Management and PlanningManage pre-construction elements, including project initiation, kickoff, RFIs, and submittals.Coordinate resource and material forecasting to meet project needs.Develop, manage, and monitor project schedules and deliverables.Prepare project progress reports and final commissioning reports for stakeholders and clients.Team and Client CoordinationCommunicate and coordinate project staffing needs and team mobilization.Act as the primary site contact for clients, fostering long-term relationships.Lead project meetings and provide updates on progress, risks, and resolutions.Quality Assurance and TestingParticipate in first of kind and oversee follow-on factory witness testing and on-site startup activities.Participate in first of kind inspections and testing to ensure thorough validation and troubleshootingOversee development of QAQC and commissioning plans, checklists and test procedures to ensure adherence to scope, guidelines and standards.Use technical equipment (power quality meters, infrared cameras, and additional monitoring instrumentation, as needed) for testing and direct vendorscontractors during execution.Risk Management and AdaptationIdentify potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate impact.Ensure timely and effective project site management, including resource and risk coordination.Handover and TransitionOnboard project teams and provide training for seamless transition of on-site commissioning responsibilities.Oversee project closeout, ensuring successful delivery and documentation.Monitor and Control Project FinancialsPrepare, forecast and monitor project budgets, profitability, margins, bill rates and utilization and maintain overall responsibility for the profitability of the projectCommunicate with the client when additional fees change orders are requiredIdentify potential project risks and develop implement strategies to minimize impact and control deviations from estimated costs and project deadlinesManage Stakeholder RelationsPrepare proposals, presentations and the overall marketing efforts of the firmPromote firm, service and expertise to existing or potential clientsMaintain client relationship to ensure an ongoing positive relationship and work with clients to identify and develop new projectsSupport contact for clients and build effective, long-term client relationshipsEnsure client satisfaction through active communicationCompletion of Assigned Tasks and Deliverables on Time and on BudgetPerforms Other Related Duties as AssignedRequirementsPOSITION REQUIREMENTS (ADVANCED LEVEL FOR ALL THE FOLLOWING) Knowledge of industry trends, project management and construction procedures and best practicesKnowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resourcesKnowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the construction mission critical, commercial buildings, or other structuresSkilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detailSkilled at managing personnel and material
