Substitute attendance administrative assistant position available beginning on approximately April 10, 2025 and lasting through the end of the 2024-2025 school year. Possibility of position extending into the 2025-2026 school year.Please note that this position is shared between both Indian Crest & Indian Valley Middle Schools. 7 hours per day during academic year only.External applicants must submit Act 168 - Disclosure Release form; have current Child Abuse, State Police, and FBI Clearances.POSITION TITLE: MIDDLE SCHOOL ATTENDANCE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT - Class IVREPORTS TO: BUILDING ADMINISTRATORSWORK YEAR: School Calendar (190 days) JOB SUMMARYACCOUNTABILITY. To perform student attendance daily processes within the Souderton Area School District. To assure accurate record keeping, prepare appropriate daily attendance letters and reports, perform daily tardy and dismissal issuesrequests, and to provide communication between the home and school regarding attendance issues.QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or GED; knowledge of and experience with computers; proven organizational skills; demonstrable verbal and written communication skills; knowledge of Pennsylvania attendance preferred.PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Record and maintain records of student's daily attendance (absences, tardies, early dismissals). File absence notes, tardy slips, and early dismissal slips. Prepare all appropriate attendance letters and notices for processing. (Courtesy letters, legal notices, excessive absences, excessive tardiness, doctor's excuse letters). When necessary, call parents regarding their child's attendance. Answer initial calls from parents regarding unlawful absence letters and notices. If necessary, direct parent calls to administration or to the attendance officer. Meet with the attendance officer when necessary regarding the attendance status of selected students. Prepare family trip approval letters. Answer phones and help in main office if and when needed. Prepare a daily attendance report Collect and respond appropriately to absence, tardy and early dismissal notes and requests from students. Contact parents, dentists or physician offices when questions arise regarding a student's absence, tardiness or early dismissal. Prepare attendance discipline and grade reports as required to review by administration and the district attendance office. Arrange appointments for students required to meet with the district attendance officer. Other appropriate attendance tasks as assigned by building administration or the district attendance office.
