Mechanical Design Engineer

RFA Engineering (is an engineering service provider dedicated to delivering our clients with timely engineering support and expertise. The selected candidate will work with an experienced engineering staff using state-of-the-art engineering tools & processes. This position will operate onsite at our customer's world-class engineering and manufacturing facility.This is a full-time position with a full benefit package listed below that includes opportunities for professional growth, direct hire by our customers, and additional opportunities within our own organization.Mechanical Design EngineerA Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining mechanical system designs under the direction of a senior engineer or manager. They lead the development of subsystems in larger design efforts or the complete mechanical system development in smaller projects.Job DescriptionPrepares product designs in compliance with engineering principles, company standards, government regulations, and customer requirements.Establishes subsystem development plans and schedules from concept to production implementation within overall business requirements. Supporting the design and development of structural, electrical and hydraulic components.Use independent engineering analysis and judgment in the execution of designs.Translate requirements into a system architecture and detailed design.Design and develop complex mechanical systems, equipment, and products for industrial machinery.Determine feasibility of modifying existing or designing new equipment considering costs, time limitations, and other technical and economic factors.Validate designs through analysis and testing.Requirements BS Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or General)Minimum of 3 years' experience in product design. Proficiency in software applications including Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook and Teams as a minimum with a solid working knowledge of applications such as 2D3D CAD (Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor).Use and understanding of engineering standards. Knowledge of typical engineering standards in drawing practice, dimensioning and tolerancing, drawing symbols, welding practice, etc.Desired SkillsPrior experience designing, transportation, agricultural, or heavy construction equipment.Experience with Power Systems including power units and generator sets (up to 2000HP)Complexlarge scale machine layout and kinematic design.Large scale structural design and analysis experience.Experience directing individual engineers or designers.VISA Sponsorship is NOT available for this positionAbout RFA EngineeringRFA Engineering has provided product development and engineering services to industry leading customers since 1943.
