Over the last 85 years, Trinity Industries has grown to over 6,000 employees strong with the common purpose of Delivering Goods, For the Good of All.The Write-Up Inspector, Mobile Repair position is a great opportunity for a resilient, team-minded individual who doesn't stray away from a challenge.Join our team today and be a part of Delivering Goods for the Good of All!What you'll do:Physical inspection of inbound railcarsIdentify and document all running numbersVerify cleaning certificatecleanliness of railcarIdentify and document any AAR defects on railcarReview shopping instructions and compare physical findings Note any findings not on shopping instructions and communicate with fleet manager or customer as requiredCreate BRC (Billing Repair Card) estimate based on shopping instructions and physical findingsSubmit estimates for review and approval from fleet manager or customerKey revisions and additional work content to the BRC and submit for approvals as needed What you'll need:High school diploma or equivalent with 2 - 4 years of related experienceHas developed proficiency in a range of processes or procedures through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience.Works with a limited degree of supervisionPrevious Rail Car Write-Up Inspector Experience.Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook)Willing ability to learn of American Railroad Association (AAR) and Trinity Rail codes standards and regulations applicable to the fabrication, repair and operation of railcars highly preferredWill use TAS, RAS, ALLTRANSTECH systems to complete estimates and other documentsAbility to work outside in various and sometimes extreme weather conditions (60% if time) and in office setting (40%)Ability to walk outside along tracks and climbing on and off cars during inspectionsAbility & experience in handling sensitiveconfidential information is a MUSTStrong written and oral communication skillsMust have a valid drivers license and clear driving record
