Job DescriptionThe Associate Manager, A&D will be responsible for new build pipeline which involves design and architectural expertise as well as great communication and influencing skills. The Associate Manager, A&D will also own the change management and updating designsdetails and processes ensuring continual improvements and adherence to brand standards. Needs to have knowledge about capex and site planning attributes for ground-up restaurants as well as should be well versed with building principles and construction methodologies.New build pipeline Manage the new build pipeline projects by reviewing new restaurant design submittals. Achieve speedy design approvals consistently. Work closely with Franchise development managers during the pre-design stage, generating explorations basis current prototypes to aid finalizing potential sites. Provides clear, effective and timely communication of design direction and changes to external consultants, Regional Franchisee Development Managers (RFDM) and franchisee teams. Identify potential risks and roadblocks through the course of design and permitting phase and demonstrate speedy solutions in partnership with Franchiseteams to accelerate progress of projects. Support the capex analysis in partnership with construction team and apply for the various asset prototypes. Ability to engage with Franchisees to arrive at value engineering solutions - establish process to test fast and learn.Kitchen and Utilities Work closely with cross function teams (OPS, QA and Equipment Engineering) to arrive at efficient kitchen layouts. Lead and develop MEP template designs to support the initiatives such as Build Smarter and Building Green based upon Global Brand Standards and provide recommendation towards achieving system wide impact on Unit Economics.Cost and Procurement Demonstrate significant business acumen with a commercial mindset to balance creativity and cost. Co-own the Build-Smarter and sustainability initiative. Partner with global KFC teams, construction team as well as finance team. Owns vendor performance management and relationships with approved design consultants. Needs to be in-tune with latest market trends, competition insights and construction insights.Change Management •Develop, maintain and support new restaurant prototype drawings. •Own KFC Architectural standards, lead the change management and communication for all prototypes across the system including vendors by providing coordinated market-ready drawings, specifications etc. •Partner with internal teams to closely align design prototypes while proactively tracking and communicating all scope and spec changes in a fluid environment. •Support the platform (backend) to drive change management. Work closely with other functions from the business development including architecture team to ensure the information on the platform (development and design) is up-to-date and adequate.EducationCertifications •BS in Architecture or related field. Related Professional registrationscertifications are a plusExperience •10+ years of Architectural design experience •Minimum of 4 years' experience in a corporate environment managing architecture and design projects •Strong portfolio that demonstrates expertise in planning and architecture, understanding of byelaws and building coderegulations •CADD proficiency with Autodesk AutoCad required. Sketchup skills a plus •Proficiency in software such as Bluebeam, Revu, Adobe Photoshop, Sketchup, PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel and Word, Adobe Acrobat etc. •Project management experience specific to building design, permitting and general construction administration. •Managing external architecture, design and engineering consultants.Skills •Ability to balance design with operational needs and budgets resulting in successful execution of restaurant environments. •Excellent inter-personal skills, being able to work with people at all levels within as well as outside of the organization •Serve as an advocate of the Brand and recognition culture •Knowledge of architectural details and specifications for document production and coordination. •Comfortable working in a highly collaborative and fast paced environment. •Strong problem solving and decision-making skills. •Intellectual curiosity and strong personal accountability to meet and exceed goals, tracking performance towards objectives. •Strong work ethic with the ability to address multiple projects with a positive mindset.Salary Range: $93,000 to $110,000 annually + bonus eligibility. This is the expected salary range for this position.
