We are now looking for a Traveling Robot Technician who will provide in-depth technical support for our robots as well as to our operators, handlers and partners. You will also execute start-of-day or end-of-day charging and cleaning of the robot fleet.You will know everything there is to know about our Starship robots and will be able to fix any technical problems they encounter - even if it requires flying it to the other side of the world for the day!A successful candidate will have:A passion for robots and innovative technologies.Previous experience in managing a large fleet of devices.Knowledge of Unix, SSH Linux systems, CLI tools and scripting.Previous experience in Technical Support and with any service desk application.Good knowledge regarding mechanics, electronics and IT.Ability to use hand and power tools.Good self-discipline.Ability to multitask and liaise with professionals in different fields.Ability to explain problems simply and clearly.Obtains an active driver's license with a clean motor vehicle record.Ability to travel. Will need to travel 80% of your time as part of your regular duties to assist as we expand launching new this role, you will get to:70% of your time you will be traveling to our Starship Technologies sites all over the U.S, where your main tasks are:Troubleshoot, repair, and refurbish robots, chargers, and batteries that return from the field, testing and verifying as-new performance so that they can return to the fleet.Refurbishment of spare parts.Updating the Jira tickets with pictures, comments and problematic components. Install retrofit kits and give feedback to engineers.Work on preventative maintenance tickets and overall fleet health check-ups.Retain and update fleet-specific info in internal tools. (e.g features, locations, etc.)Collaborate with team members to develop and improve our processes, and train other team members.Assist with QA, shipping, receiving, inventory, and other activities.Support Engineering through assembly and modification of prototypes and test hardware.5S and hub cleanliness.30% of your time you will be preparing for sites visit and overseeing fleet health issues:Troubleshoot and instruct onsite staff on the robot repairs. Check the open repair tickets and order parts from the warehouse to locations prior to traveling to the locations.Planning and booking your travel details.Contribute to updating and improving our work instructions and other technical documentation.Physical requirements:Office work.Movement ability to frequent usage of wrists, hands and finger dexterity to movements such as constant typing.Occasional lifting of items with weight up to 70 lbs.Ready to join our Starship fleet?
