We want you to be part of this legacy and take it forward.The HVAC Technician is responsible for the maintenance, repair and upkeep of all equipment used for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, building refrigeration and splitpackaged systems equipment. This includes operations of a central heating plant utilizing steam andor hot water for tempering or heating building, and a central chilled water plant to provide cooling to building. Refrigerated equipment includes but is not limited to walk-in coolers and freezers, reach-in coolers and ice machines. You will be required at times to be available for emergency (equipmentsystem failures) shifts at any campus buildings where needed. Provides excellent customer service to create a comfortable environment at all campuses.Essential Responsibilities: Installs, repairs and services heating, ventilation and refrigeration systemsMonitors, trouble shoots, and make necessary program adjustments to computerized systems.Accurately troubleshoot and diagnose equipment failures and identify necessary comprehensive repairs and solutions.Replace or change bearings on fan systems, motors and shaftsContribute to the effective team management of all problems, issues and opportunitiesActs as a team player and provides expertise within the team and with other teams as appropriatePerform other activities as necessaryYour Qualifications:HVAC license Seven or more years' residentialcommercialindustrial experienceValid drivers' license High school diploma or GED requiredSpecial Skills: Proficient with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for preventative maintenance and work order program management. Proficient with Computer operation for use on our energy management system. Must be able to set equipment trends to monitor energy consumptionAbility to read and understand blueprints and schematicsComplete and facilitate installation of HVAC systemsCapable of operating a variety of hand and power toolsGood communication skills and must be capable of working without direct supervisionMust be able to work from a ladder, lifts and rooftopsAbility to learn locations of all HVAC equipment and how they relate to each buildingAbility to run and maintain the chiller plant to control temperaturesMust be familiar with cooling tower operations and repair potential problemsPhysicalEnvironmental:Frequently works above and below grade level and in crawls or confined spacesHeavy lifting, 75-100 poundsFrequently exposed to extremes of weather and adverse environmental conditionsPlease note that this job description is subject to modifications at any time to meet the evolving requirements of our institution.Respect, inclusion, and opportunity for people of all backgrounds will attract the best ideas to THF and help us shape a more vibrant future.
