Mittera Chicago, an industry leaders in print, mail and marketing services, is currently seeking a full-time 1st shift and 2nd shift operator who are experts at both guillotine cutting paperplastics as well as setting up and running an MBO foldergluer.DescriptionPerform set-up, adjustment and safe operation of cutting equipment. Prepare product to be packed, collated or bound, ensuring that all items produced meet customer specifications.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSet-up and adjust cutter machine in accordance with instructions and job requirementsAbility to use guillotine cutter paperplasticsAbility to use MBO foldergluerTroubleshoot issues on MBO foldergluerSet-up automatic cutting programs manually into cutter machinePerform routine preventative maintenance and production adjustments equipment as needed.Clean and maintain work areaInspect product to determine conformity to quality specificationsReport productivity achievements, wastedefectsAdhere to production schedule and quality requirementsCommunicate effectively with supervisor, finishing operators, material handlers and co-workersOperate cutter machine and ancillary equipment to cut material into desired dimensionsEvaluate and make decisions concerning quality of product while cuttingReview job tickets and plan work processes to meet customer specificationsKeep accurate press sheet information with dates and countsMonitor assigned machine during runs to ensure adherence to specifications and make adjustments as neededPerform routine maintenance, such as blade replacement, lubrication, and waxingNotify supervision of mechanicalelectrical problems and complete "Work Orders" for partsrepairs that require maintenance assistancePrepare load flags on each outgoing load showing the next operation or destinationAll other duties as assigned RequirementsRequired Skills and AbilitiesTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
