Common services provided in the MICU include advanced airway management with ventilator support, insertion and maintenance of chest times and central lines, titratiable IV medicationsinfusions, telemetry, invasive monitoring, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), therapeutic devices (intra-aortic balloon pump, Impella), and ECMO (advanced life support - extracorporeal membrane oxygenation). QUALIFICATIONS Possesses critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Possesses effective oral and written communication skills. Possesses effective interpersonal relationship skills. Ability to utilize computers for documentation purposes. Technically competent in tasks within the scope of practice of a Registered Nurse. Ability to read and comprehend English at a level necessary to follow written and oral instructions and safety precautions. Work Experience Minimum of one year LicenseRegistrationCertification Active uncumbered state license or compact license (if applicable) CPR (by the American Heart Association) BLS, ACLS - American Heart Association Education and Training Graduate from an accredited school of nursing or Employee Degree in Nursing. BSN preferred. Physical Requirements - Must be able to push, pull, bend, and ambulate without assistance.
