As a Payroll Accountant, USCA you will be working in Payroll Operations supporting Payroll Tax Filings, Payroll Accounting and People Operations for the United States and Canada. You will work collaboratively with all aspects of People Operations on Payroll, Compensation, Benefits Administration, and other related technical and employee relations issues. Will also support the businesses and accounting functions with questions related to Payroll Accounting and Costing. You will support Payroll and People Operations with other projects and tasks as assigned. This is a hybrid role located at our General Office, Pittsburgh, PA and you will report to the Payroll Tax and Accounting Manager.Key Responsibilities- Payroll Accounting & Tax:Maintain Payroll Accounting Software, update mapping and formattingPerform monthly and quarterly Account Reconciliations for Payroll AccountsSupport Trial Balance Locations with Payroll Accounting DataPrepare funding for 3rd Party VendorsPrepare Journal Entries and post via Oracle, use ServiceNow to request approvalPrepare the funding for the tax filing periodic data and transmit to ADP for remittance- Regulatory compliance:Reconciliation of Payroll and HR related General Ledger AccountsFollow GAAP and Controller RequirementsSupport Internal and External Audits of Payroll DataPerform annual Control ReviewReview quarterly and annual payroll tax filings; work with ADP to ensure all local and state statutory payroll reporting requirements are metProcess W-2s, 1099-Rs, 1099-Ms & 1099-NECs via ADP W-2 ManagementEstablish local and state withholding accounts and employee tax changes as neededRespond to tax notices, wage orders, and governmental correspondence- Business partner:Partner with internal and external resources for process improvementsSupport employees and managers with payroll, payroll system andor process queriesGenerate Payroll Reports and Data for use by Business Units, HR and external vendorsAssist with special projects as neededQualificationsBSBA Degree in Business, Tax or Accounting, or other related areasMinimum of 4+ years of Accounting experienceAbility to apply GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)2+ years of experience of ADP Payroll Tax, preferredExperience working in a multi-state and multiple legal entity environmentKnowledge of federal, state and local regulations and reporting lawsExperience using multiple accounting systems, Oracle, SAP & etc.Experience using ADP SmartCompliance for tax remittance and filingExperience with Workday Payroll, preferredExperience with ServiceNow, preferredAbility to maintain a high level of confidentiality#LI-HybridMedical, Dental, 401K, paid vacation and holidays.PPG pay ranges and benefits can vary by location which allows us to compensate employees competitively in different geographic markets.
