JOB DESCRIPTION:The Emotional Brain Institute (EBI) is a multidisciplinary institute aimed at addressing fundamental questions in neuroscience and neuropsychiatry. We seek to hire a research technician to aid in behavioral, electrophysiological, and microscopy-based experiments on animals, aimed at understanding visual processing and adolescent development.JOB DUTIES:The Research technician will help with animal care and colony management. They will carry out stereotaxic surgeries in mice, microscopy experiments, electrophysiological recordings, and data processing. Individuals planning a career in neuroscience are encouraged to apply.JOB QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in the following areas: biology, neuroscience, psychology, chemistry.Preferred QualificationsExperience conducting stereotaxic surgeries in mice or rats.At least one year experience working in a biology or neuroscience laboratory.High motivation to improve and learn, while making a contribution to a scientific field.Background InvestigationJustice Center Review Requirements: Prospective appointees will be: 1) Checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs.
