Salary : $65,282.88 - $79,357.20 AnnuallyLocation : Compton, CAJob Type: Full-TimeJob Number: 2425 - 37Department: Maintenance DepartmentOpening Date: 02062025Closing Date: 332025 11:59 PM Pacific Position DetailsUnder general supervison, supervise the work of a crew of trades staff installing, maintainin and repairing plumbing-related systems and equipment. JOB RELATIONSHIPS:This class is distinguished from subordinate skilled trade classification such as Plumber by supervisory duties and the coordination of the work of trades performing plumbing and related repairs and installations. Essential Functions - Typical DutiesSupervise, assign, coordinate, review and evaluate the performance of plumbers, semi-skilled and unskilled personnel, involved in the installation, maintenance and repair of plumbing related systems. Train, supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel. Determine priority of work orders and their assignment to personnel; plan, organize and schedule work flow of assigned employees.Assist in the selection of new trades employees: recommend disciplinary action or promotion when appropriate; review completed work and work in progress to assure proper completion of assignments. Distribute materials and equipment to assigned personnel; assure that trucks are properly equipped. Initiate requisition for materials and equipment; authorize small purchases from local vendors; review use of materials and equipment by assigned municate with site administrators to plan and prioritize plumbing and maintenance needs. Estimate time and labor costs; maintain records of time and production costs; prepare records and reports as necessary.Advise and assist assigned personnel in performing plumbing, HVAC or welding repairs and maintenance; assure timely completion of work requests.Establish and implement prudent shop and job-site safety policies and procedures; assure proper care and maintenance of assigned equipment.May perform skilled work involving maintenance, repair or installation in the plumbing trade; operate specialized tools and plumbing equipment.Read and interpret job orders, blueprints and specifications.Perform related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications - Education and ExperienceAny combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to graducation from high school or successful completion of a general education (GED) program; supplemented by training courses in plumbing and four years of journey-level plumbing experience or completion of recognized plumbing apprenticeship program and two-years journey level plumbing experience. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:Possession of a California Class C driver's license.Possession of licensing required for the journey level plumbing trade.Possession of hilti gun, and asbestos handling certificate, which may be obtained during the first four months of employment.•Health and Welfare Plan for employees and eligible dependents.
