About The RoleWe are looking for a dynamic Senior Engineering Manager of Data Collection to lead and scale our agent and data collection team at Traceable. This team is at the heart of the Traceable platform, tackling complex challenges by extracting API data from diverse systems through advanced mechanisms such as eBPF, mirroring, API gateway policies, language agents, and this leadership role, you will own the strategy and execution of end-to-end data collection systems - from low level kernel instrumentation (eg: eBPF) and language agents (Java, .NET) to high level gateway policies and beyond. You will work cross functionally with product, customer success, sales and quality engineering teams to prioritize features, deliver exceptional solutions and shape the future of data infrastructure. You will be responsible for driving innovation, setting strategic direction, and managing a team of talented engineers working on critical data pipeline and collection technologies.Role ResponsibilitiesLeadership: Lead, mentor, and grow a team of data collection engineers, providing guidance on best practices, career development, and fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.Team Development: Drive performance reviews, set objectives, and ensure high team morale and alignment with company goals.Technical Roadmapping: Define and execute the roadmap for comprehensive data collection solutions, spanning eBPF, JVM, .NET, Nginx modules, and beyond.Architecture & Design: Architect and oversee end-to-end data collection frameworks, from OSkernel-level instrumentation to language-specific agents and gateway policies.Optimization & Scalability: Leverage advanced techniques (e.g., eBPF, C++ optimizations, runtime injection) to minimize overhead on monitored applications and systems. Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with cross functional teams including sales, product management, data science and other stakeholders to define data requirements and ensure the collection systems are aligned with company goals. Verification & Validation: Implement strong data validation and quality control measures to ensure the integrity and accuracy of collected data. Oversee data collection and performance and address issues proactively. Stay ahead of the curve on emerging technologies and trends in data collection, API security and related fields. Champion the adoption of modern technologies and practices to improve data collection processes.
