Job Description: RN - PCU (Progressive Care Unit)Location: Flushing, New YorkJob Summary:We are seeking an experienced and skilled Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiac Stepdown team. The RN will provide high-quality care to patients requiring close monitoring and specialized nursing interventions. This role is ideal for nurses with expertise in telemetry, ventilator management, and progressive care nursing who are adaptable and thrive in a fast-paced hospital setting.Roles and Responsibilities: Patient Monitoring and Care: Deliver advanced nursing care to patients requiring continuous telemetry and ventilator management, ensuring accurate assessment and timely interventions. Collaboration with Multidisciplinary Teams: Work closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized patient care plans. Telemetry Expertise: Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry data to identify and respond to changes in patient conditions. Floating Responsibilities: Provide care to other units within the hospital as needed, within the scope of expertise and acuity level. Documentation and Compliance: Maintain detailed and accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) system while adhering to hospital policies and best practices.Job Requirements: Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required. Licensure and Certification: Active New York State RN license. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a Med-Surg, Progressive Care, andor Stepdown unit. Ventilator management and telemetry experience required. Experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center andor large academic hospital preferred. Skills: Proficiency in EMR systems, strong critical thinking, and the ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments. Schedule: Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend. Call Requirement: None. Float Requirement: Yes, to units appropriate for skill set and within acuity. Why Join Us?
