Senior Staff Accountant

They are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join their team, reporting directly to the CFO. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to a company that values collaboration and professional development.Key Responsibilities:Oversee general accounting functions and handle various financial tasks that are crucial to the company's operations.Reconcile bank and credit card accounts monthly, ensuring all deposits are accurately verified.Handle additional financial account reconciliations, ensuring completeness and accuracy.File critical tax forms, including sales tax and truck tax forms, in a timely manner.Support the Controller by preparing general ledger work papers for review.Stay updated on the latest accounting standards and ensure the company follows accepted practices and procedures.Take on additional ad hoc accounting tasks as required, contributing to the team's success.What We're Looking For:Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software such as NetSuite (experience with specific accounting software systems is a plus).In-depth understanding of both general financial and cost accounting principles.Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the ability to apply them in real-world situations.Strong ability to prepare tax reports accurately and efficiently.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.A strong sense of organization and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.Education and Experience:A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field (preferred).CPA certification (preferred) or experience working in a public accounting firm is a strong plus.Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience is preferred.Why Join Us?Competitive Salary: Starting from $80,000 + per year, with potential for prehensive Benefits: Including 401(k), health, dental, vision, life insurance, and paid time off.Work-Life Balance: Enjoy a Monday to Friday schedule with a focus on work-life balance.Location:This is an in-person role based at their Lindenhurst, NY office.If you're ready to take the next step in your accounting career, we want to hear from you!
