Job Summary:Payroll Operations Lead Manager ensures the accurate and timely processing of multiple payrolls-including semi-monthly, bi-weekly, weekly, and off-cycle payrolls-across multiple companies and states in collaboration with other payroll leaders. This role will manage a team of sports and entertainment Payroll Partners, providing leadership, guidance, mentorship and coordination of their various payroll addition to payroll operations, this role will collaborate closely with the Director of Payroll on long-term strategic initiatives and compliance efforts. Payroll Operations Lead Manager will play a key role in driving improvements that ensure the payroll function remains scalable, efficient, and aligned with the company's growth and evolving needs.Key Responsibilities:Participates and helps lead cross-functional teams in critical review and analysis of current payroll and tax procedures to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations.Partner with the Director of Payroll and other Payroll colleagues to implement strategic payroll initiatives.Support ongoing policy development and procedural updates in response to regulatory changes or organizational needs.Address complex payroll-related inquiries and resolve issues with professionalism and confidentiality, maintaining high standards of colleague satisfaction.Lead a team of payroll professionals, providing mentorship, training and support to enhance their skills and improve overall department performance.Provide excellent customer service and respond in a timely manner to escalated colleague issues and inquiries regarding payroll matters.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations by keeping up to date with changes in tax laws and other relevant legislation that impact payroll processes.Provides ad hoc reporting and other documentation to Finance, HR and other authorized partiesMeets all government reporting requirements for payroll taxes, withholding and employer contributions.Partner with Human Resources on Payroll related colleague actions.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Bachelor's degree in accounting, business or equivalent payroll functions.7+ years of multi-state payroll experience with excellent knowledge of payroll practices and procedures.2 years' experience in hiring, managing and leading staff.Extensive knowledge of Workday Payroll and MS Office-Excel required.Working knowledge of accounting principles with the ability to identify and resolve accounting issues problems under tight time constraints.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and a proven ability to handle confidential matters and information.Ability to perform at a high level in a deadline driven environment, utilizing problem solving, decision-making skills and attention to detail.Working knowledge of payroll tax at the federal, state and local levels.Highly organized and a team player.Working Conditions:Office environment.May be sitting for lengthy periods of time.Some evenings and weekends may be required.The above is intended to describe the general content of and requirements for the performance of this job.
