PAYROLL COORDINATOR (FULL-TIME)

Medway Public Schools is seeking to fill the following position: PAYROLL COORDINATOR REPORTS TO: Director of Finance and Operations PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: * Responsible for payroll of more than 450 employees for bi-weekly period. * Prepares and processes hourly and salaried bi-weekly payroll. * Collects and verifies employee timekeeping data. * Calculates all wages, deductions, benefits and any required adjustments. * Verify the accuracy of wages, deductions, benefits and withholdings. * Recording and maintaining of payroll information for new hires, terminations, and retirements. * Collects insurance payments for current employees not contributing through payroll deductions. * Reviews and verifies monthly invoices for benefits and insurances. * Prepares reports and coordinates with vendors for 403b and flexible spending plans. * Prepares payroll reports for management and auditing purposes. * Prepares reports reflecting earnings, taxes, and deductions. * Ensures compliance with district policies, state and federal regulations regarding tax and payroll laws. * Researches and resolves questions related to the processing of payroll information such as leave time, banking, taxes, benefits, retroactive pay calculations, and other changes. * Sorts and distributes payroll and vendor checks. * Maintains accurate records of sick and vacation leave taken and balances accrued. * Serves as liaison for the Norfolk County Retirement Board and Massachusetts Teachers' Retirement Board. * Reconciles data and records across systems and software, including MUNIS and MTRS. * Communicates with the Human Resources Manager to ensure the integrity of the payroll data as it relates to new hires, terminations, and pay changes. * Assists with special projects and other duties assigned by the Director of Finance and Operations.
