If you are a current Barnard College employee, please use the internal career site to apply for this position.Job:Program Coordinator, Campus-Wide ProgramsJob Summary:Under the direction of the Director, Student Experience and Engagement (SEE), the Program Coordinator for Campus-Wide Programs supports the overarching mission of the department by fulfilling duties related to Barnard's campus-wide programming inclusive of new student orientation. The Program Coordinator provides support to student populations through advising clubs and organizations and promotes campus-wide programming and community-building in partnership with student organizations and other campus departments. The Program Coordinator is an active member of both the Student Experience and Engagement team and larger Barnard campus community.Job Description:Duties & Responsibilities: In collaboration with the Director, develop, coordinate, implement, and assess the Fall and Spring New Student Orientation Programs (NSOP), including programsession development, budget oversight, and assessment and evaluation.Prepare for NSOP by serving as a liaison for Barnard campus partners with Columbia University's Columbia CollegeSchool of Engineering and Applied Science (SEAS) Student Engagement, and General Studies Student Life.Recruit, hire, supervise and assist in the training of all student NSOP staff including, Orientation Leaders, Team Captains and Orientation Coordinators.Lead campus-wide committees and programming on behalf of SEE and Campus Life and Student Experience focusing on the development, implementation, and evaluation of community-building across campus.Work collaboratively with campus partners on initiatives related to NSOP, Student Recognition, and Commencement. Serve as primary advisor for the McIntosh Activities Council (McAC), Barnard's student-lead activities council, and other student organizations as requested by manager. In collaboration with colleagues in Non-Residential Student Support, implement programs to support non-residential students, commuter students, and first year students in college transition. As designated, serve as a Strengths Coach, and assist the Department and Barnard College with facilitating sessions for student leaders, students, and other members of the Barnard community.Contribute to the Department's marketing and communication efforts via content management platforms and other means to ensure the campus community is informed and aware of Campus-Wide initiatives. Assist in staffing campus-wide programs and initiatives both via the Department and the College; may include some evening and weekend responsibilities.Serve on campus-wide committees representing the Department, specifically for campus-wide programming efforts.Supervise a graduate assistant, who is tasked with assisting with duties and responsibilities associated with the position.Other duties as assigned.Skills, Qualifications & Requirements:Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skillsInterpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively with a wide variety of individuals, including students, faculty, administrators, alumnae, parents and members of the publicDemonstrated ability to work with and among diverse communities.Word processing and computer skills including but not limited to desktop publishing, Microsoft, Office, database, email, Web.Familiarity and experience with navigating online student engagement platforms, such as Anthology.Qualifications: Masters Degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Development or a related field1-3 years of experience working in an higher education setting, ideally working with Orientation Programs, Event Management, and or related functional areasExperience advising and supervising undergraduate & graduate studentsStrong communication, time management, and organizational skills.Familiarity with Clifton Strengths Finder and Strengths coachingExperience working with software programs such as Engage or other Anthology programs for organization management, Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe platformsAbility to work in a high volume, high traffic, and high energy environmentComfort working as a member of a team and willingness to be a member of the Barnard CommunityWork Hours & Other Details:12 month position, full-time 35 hours per weekAnticipated hours of work; 9am - 5pm (can be flexible)This job is currently a hybrid position and may require a presence in the office up to five times a week, including for team and full staff meetings and other times as directed by the supervisor.Occasional weekend and evening work depending on the needs of the DepartmentCollegeSalary Range: $64,350 - $68,000 annuallyThe salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training.
