RK&K has an opportunity for a mid-level StructuralBridge Engineer with 4 to 7 years of experience to join our team in King of Prussia, PA. As a Structural Bridge Engineer with RK&K you will prepare designs for bridges and other transportation related structures for a variety of projects and clients. Provide preliminary concepts to final construction plans. You will also provide structural condition inspections of bridges and structures following NBIS guidelines.Essential FunctionDesign structural components of bridges, box culverts, retaining walls and related structuresProvide expertise in geometric layout and quantity developmentCalculate bridge load ratingsDraft inspection reportsCollaborate with a multi-disciplinary team across RK&K's portfolioMentor junior staffReviewcheck design calculations, drawings, estimates and specifications produced by junior engineersWillingness to engage in business development activitiesPerform bridge inspections in accordance with the NBISRequired Skills and Experience Minimum of a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or structural engineeringRegistration as an EIT (FE passed)Experience or willingness to learn software such as: PennDOT Engineering Software, LARSA, LEAP Bridge ConcreteSteel, STAAD Pro, VBent, MicroStation, OpenBridge Designer, various other structural programsEffective, professional oral and written communicationPreferred Skills and ExperienceMaster's degree in civil engineering or structuresRegistered Professional Engineer in the Commonwealth of PennsylvaniaPrevious experience in structural or transportation engineeringNBISCBSI Bridge Inspection TrainingOther DutiesThis job description indicates the general nature and levels of work, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other essential functions (as covered under ADA).
