We empower organizations with high-quality location intelligence to drive strategic decision-making.Role Overview We are seeking a Technical Pre-Sales Director - Data Quality to lead and optimize the pre-sales data quality process for our global location intelligence solutions. This is a highly technical role with leadership responsibilities, requiring a hands-on expert who is deeply proficient in databases, SQL, and coding, while also being comfortable interacting with clients and managing a team.This role reports directly to the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) and will play a key role in ensuring our data meets the highest standards for prospective clients. Objective The primary goal of this role is to deliver clean, accurate, and high-quality data to clients during the pre-sales process, covering evaluations, samples, and large-scale data deliveries. This individual will work closely with product, data operations, engineering, and revenue teams to maintain the highest data standards and support client needs.The ideal candidate is a scrappy, highly technical leader with strong problem-solving skills-someone who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and can effectively balance technical execution, client interaction, and team management.Key ResponsibilitiesLead Pre-Sales Data Quality Efforts: Own the process of validating and delivering high-quality data for evaluations, proofs of concept, and sample deliveries.Engage with Clients: Work directly with customers to understand their data needs, troubleshoot issues, and ensure successful data integration into their workflows.Technical Hands-On Execution: Utilize SQL and scripting to analyze, clean, and validate large datasets. Work within databases, cloud platforms, and coding environments to optimize data processing and delivery. Develop and refine automated quality control processes for pre-sales data.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, engineering, and data teams to ensure that pre-sales efforts align with core company objectives.Manage and Grow a Team: Lead and scale a small team focused on pre-sales data validation, setting clear quality standards and performance goals.Optimize Data Delivery Workflows: Identify inefficiencies and implement improvements in how pre-sales data is evaluated, processed, and delivered to customers.Problem-Solve & Adapt: Apply flexible, analytical thinking to navigate complex data challenges and provide technical solutions for clients and internal teams.Travel as Needed: Attend client meetings, industry conferences, and company events.QualificationsProven track record in a similar technical pre-sales or data quality leadership role, ideally in location intelligence, geospatial data, or data analytics.7+ years of experience in data analysis, pre-sales, or a related technical field.Highly proficient in SQL-must be able to query, clean, and manipulate large datasets efficiently.Strong coding skills in Python, R, or another relevant language to automate data processing and validation.Deep experience with databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar).Familiarity with cloud-based data processing platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).Excellent client-facing communication skills, with the ability to explain technical data challenges to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Leadership experience managing technical teams, with the ability to balance IC work and team management effectively.Scrappy, resourceful, and hands-on problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment.Ability to travel as needed for client meetings and industry events.Location & Work EnvironmentHybrid role based in Denver or NYC, with in-person collaboration required.Some travel required for client meetings, team off-sites, and industry conferences.Why Join Us?Make an Impact: Help shape the quality of location intelligence for global enterprises.Collaborate with Top Talent: Work with a driven and innovative team across multiple functions.Growth Opportunities: As Dataplor scales, so will your role and responsibilities.
