Neuroanalyst- Variable - 7a to 7p

The Neuroanalyst is an integral part of the general care team, working closely with direct care providers and multidisciplinary team members to perform daily scanning of long term neurodiagnostic tests including the most complex monitoring necessary for brain and epilepsy surgery cases andor patients in ICU and provides the final advance technical report. Variable Shift - 7a to 7pmQualifications:Minimum EducationAssociate's Degree Completion of commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) accredited Neurodiagnostic Technology Program (Required) OrBachelor's Degree from an accredited University (Preferred)Minimum Work Experience 2 years experience in LTM and or ICU after attaining the CTM credential with a Bachelor's- Preferred 3 years experience in LTM and or ICU after attaining the CTM credential with a Associate's- PreferredRequired SkillsKnowledgeExtensive knowledge of medication and its effects on EEG waveforms.Must have extensive knowledge of EEG technology concepts and advanced techniques for LTMICUcEEG including:1. Equipment set-up for ICUcEEG recordings and application of scalp electrodes utilizing International 10-20 (or 10-10) System of Electrode Placement using collodion or paste adhesives.2. Activating procedures (hyperventilation, photic stimulation) as appropriate.3. All duties and responsibilities for typical and special consideration for routine and advanced EEGECoG (electrocorticography).4. Extensive knowledge in neuroanesthesia and its application to neuromonitoring.5. All aspects of the subdural grid implant preoperatively, intraoperatively, and post- operatively including but not limited to: electrode set-up, montage creationverification, troubleshooting, hook-up and discontinuation, and stimulation for cortical mapping.Have strong, well-developed communication and critical thinking skills.Must have above average computer skills.Must be good or greater: vision, hearing, manual dexterity, talking and speech, typing.Requires the ability to concentrate for long periods of time under stressful conditions and still perform properly and effectively.Physical Skills:1. Recognizes physiologic and nonphysiologic artifacts and eliminates andor properly monitors. Review, evaluate, map, and classify impressions of ictal, interictal, and paroxysmal events and data collected from EEGvideo recordings. Edit and archive EEG and video data of patients' VideoEEG monitoring. May support the physician by providing study findings, results, impressions, and descriptive analysis and may act as the physician extender in collaboration with the supervising physician and other healthcare staff. Map interictal and ictal patterns and create permanent file clips which represent these findings. Detail patient history to include current and previous medications, family history, surgeries, skull defects, etc. from patient interviews and write daily technician monitoring descriptions in the patient hospital charts describing examination made during admission to the monitoring units. Write final technical report and detailed description of EEG patterns, seizure semiology, radiologic findings, mapping of ictal and interictal abnormalities, and selection of representative EEG samples. Tutor, demonstrate, and mentor other team members in competencies related to the setup and monitoring of LTMICUEEG. Educate the patient and family regarding their LTMICUcEEG monitoring procedure and interact on a level appropriate to the patient's age and mental capacity. Remain independent and proficient in the performance and training of all duties and responsibilities for LTMICUcEEG monitoring. Maintain continuing education requirements of ABRET for CLTM by reviewing current literature and attending continuing education meetings and seminars. Utilize universal precautions and adheres to the infection control standards. Comply with the safety policies and procedures of CNH and as recommended by the American Epilepsy Society (AES).
