We're a dynamic team on a mission to provide better healthcare options for Houstonians!We are Looking for:Someone who is an experienced Medical Assistant for a multispecialty medical practice. The medical assistant should perform a supportive role in delivering comprehensive care to the patient that is safe, effective, and efficient.Responsibilities:Rooming the patientInterviewupdate patient's chief complaint, medical history, medication list, and take vitals.Prepares patient charts a week in advance and verifies benefits reports.Prepares patient charts a week in advance.Scanning documents to appropriate patient charts.Makes sure all rooms are stocked and clean before clinic, after each patient, and at the end of the day.Refill patient medications as directed by a physician and obtain Pre-AuthorizationDetermination for medications.Ensures that physician is in-network and authorizedup-to-date referral is in the patient's chart.Assist the physician in the exam room with any wound care andor procedures.Follow up on callsvoicemails and document phone logconversationEducates and informs the patient of any DI, labs, referrals, and procedures physicians might have ordered.Schedules patients for upcoming appointments after the physician sees the patient.Obtains authorization prior to sending any orders when needed.Main fax line- Distribute faxes to appropriate team member(s)Performs related duties as required.Benefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental InsuranceDisability insuranceHealth insuranceLife insurancePaid time offVision insurance Requirements Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with a nationally recognized accreditation organization or graduate of an approved Medical Assistant programTwo years+ of experience as a Medical AssistantExperience in a medical office or customer service environment preferredExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to multitask and prioritize effectivelyStrong attention to detail and accuracyProficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applicationsKnowledge of medical terminology and insurance billing preferred
