Job OverviewSummaryObjective The Flat Rate Body Tech repairs damaged body parts and bodies of vehicles in accordance with factory and dealership specification and time standards.Essential FunctionsRepairs vehicles per estimate and according to manufacturer standardsChecks parts against estimate and ensures proper parts are ordered and receivedPrepares vehicles for body repair workNotifies management of any additional repairs neededNotifies management of any difficulties or problems that may prevent a quality job from being performed or cause a change in the promised timeMaintains tools and equipment in a proper state of repairMaintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturerComplies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials reporting any deviations to managementCooperates and assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehiclesUnderstands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.Maintains a clean and safe work areaOperates all tools and equipment in a safe mannerAttends pertinent training on requestOther duties as assignedOther Duties Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Workspace is covered but may involve various weather conditions such as heat and cold as well as safety hazards due to the nature of work. May experience loud noise on a regular basis.MediumHeavy WorkWill lift over 50 pounds with assistance device required andor frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to or over 35 pounds with assistance device available as needed.This position will require the employee to be standing for prolonged periods of timeThis position requires the ability to push, pull, stoop, kneel, reach, grasp, and walk on a regular basisThis position involves repetitive motionThis position requires the ability to talk and hearPosition TypeExpected Hours of Work Shop Business Hours with ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as requiredRequired Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent. Safe working knowledge of shop tools and equipment. Two years of related experience andor training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Preferred Education and Experience Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; and two to five years of related experience andor training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two to five years of collision repair experience.I-CAR or ASE Certifications are preferred.Additional Eligibility Qualifications (CertificationLicensesRegistrations) Valid Driver's LicenseSafety Sensitive PositionThe essential functions of this position require a person to work with hazardous or flammable materials; ANDOR to complete tasks in which a lapse of attention could result in injury, including without limitation the operating, repairing, maintaining, or monitoring of heavy equipment, machinery, or motor vehicles.
