Job Title: Tax ManagerCompany: LG Energy Solution Michigan, Inc.Location: Troy, MIFLSA Status: ExemptJob Summary: Tax Manager for LG Energy Solution North America will be responsible for overseeing tax compliance and planning across all LGES entities in North America. This role ensures precise tax filings, maintains adherence to applicable tax laws, and manages relationships with external tax consultants. The position involves coordinating tax schedules, monitoring regulatory changes, and addressing audit inquiries to support LGES's tax compliance and optimization efforts. The ideal candidate is a seasoned U.S. tax professional with strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative approach to managing tax processes.Primary Responsibilities:Review and verify the accuracy of tax filings, documentation, and provisions, ensuring all submissions comply with federal, state, and local regulations.Manage tax accounting compliance processes, including the timely financial recording, reconciliation, and resolution of all tax expenses and liabilities.Coordinate with internal finance and accounting teams to gather necessary data, support tax filing processes, and ensure alignment with tax compliance requirements.Conduct regular compliance reviews for transfer pricing and manage intercompany transactions to ensure adherence to established policies.Provide advice on tax implications for new business initiatives and pursue federal and state government incentive opportunities.Identify and advance U.S. indirect tax EBIT and cash opportunities.Support tax audits for local entities, including income, salesuse, property, and gross receipts audits.Monitor and assess tax law and rate changes, advising on their impact and implementing necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.Analyze and respond to tax-related inquiries, manage responses to tax audits, and address issues as they arise.Support accounting-related activities as needed to align with overall financial objectives and processes.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.7+ years of public accounting or large corporation tax experience in a multi-entity or cross-border environment.Strong tax technical and analytical proficiency with U.S. taxes and comprehensive knowledge of U.S. corporate tax regulations and compliance practices.Motivated, team-oriented, self-starter, adept at working in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work autonomously and effectively with various functions (Legal, Controllership, Treasury) and all levels of personnel.Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.Proficiency in tax software and ERP systems; experience with SAP is a plus.Bilingual proficiency in Korean and English (reading, speaking, and writing) is preferred.Advanced degree andor CPA preferred.Additional tax certifications (e.g., CMI, JD) preferred.
