Position SummaryTo provide a comprehensive intake, assessment and service plan for clients referred to CareerCompass; To assist clients in determining their career pathway, education and training needed, and goal planning; Assist in the career decision making process to help clients' identify their strengths, experiences and vocational interests. Ensures the client external referrals are individualized and the clients receive concurrent assignments when appropriate.Essential FunctionsWork with participants to develop a comprehensive service plan based upon a thorough understanding of the individual's interests, strengths, preferences and needs. This plan will be completed within 7- 14 calendar days of client referral to CareerCompass. The goal is to maintain a 95% ISP completion rate each month.Assist with the placement of program participants into Concurrent Assignments at CareerAdvance, Alternative Engagement Opportunities, Internships andor Community Service as appropriate, and meet the monthly goals identified for this area.Consistently manage caseload by reviewing client program start dates, attendance and other issues to best determine next steps for clients including referrals to external programs, timely FTC's or other necessary actions.Maintain and execute documentation and workflow through computer-based programs and technology that draws on basic softwarecomputer skill set, including case notes for each client interaction, client intake signature, scanning relevant documents to client file such as signed EPISP, education credentials and resume.Conduct service coordination with CareerAdvance and Educational Services to identify slot availability of trainings, internships, community service and educational opportunities for client referrals to increase referrals to Alternative Engagement and Concurrent Assignments. Utilize program flyers, information sessions, Blink system and informational emails for this purpose.Conduct one-on-one interview(s) with each client to collect information about the participant's work and education history, barriers to career goals, criminal history, personalfamily background, and living situations.Taking the results of the TABE or SABE and other types of assessment instruments used in CareerCompass, determine the educational, skills level, and vocational interest of the participant to assist with the completion of HRA's on-line employment plan (EP) and Individual Service Plan (ISP).Collaborate with other CareerCompass staff to provide holistic services to all clients during orientation, workshop and Service Coordination meetings. Collaborate with Post Placement Coordinators to maintain follow up and accurate information regarding client progress at external engagements for at least 1 year following assessment completion.Collaborate with post placement coordinators to generate client success stories every six weeks, the success stories should detail how the assessment process assisted client with determining their goals, and what progress they have made toward those goals.Attend and participate in meetings, staff development sessions and in-service training as assigned.Performs other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Education & ExperienceFormal Education: Bachelors Degree in vocational rehabilitation, social work or social service-related field preferred.Experience: 3 YearsFor internal employees within the CareerCompass program, in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, employee must have an Associate's Degree with a minimum of five (5) year of work related experience or they must have a high school diploma or equivalency with a minimum of seven (7) year of work related experience. Bilingual is a plus.Must be able to work effectively with public assistance clients from various socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds and establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients.Maintain professional ethics related to confidentiality of client information.The individual must be able to adapt to new business requirements and changes in the environment.This position requires reasonable predictable attendance. It requires in-person interactions with NADAP clients.
