The Assistant Director of Field Operations is responsible for the overall success and continued development of our field crews. This includes the training and development of the foremen, crews and seasonal support labor, the on-time completion of projects by our field teams and the adherence to company rules and procedures by the field teams. The Assistant Directors success will be evaluated based on the ability of the field teams to meet project deadlines, develop skill sets that strengthens the workforce each season and the proper care of our company vehicles, installation equipment and rental equipment by our field teams. The overall expectation is that the Assistant Director of Field Operations maintains the morale and dedication of our field crew while elevating their efficiency and understanding of our goals. Management of the costs associated with the field crew is also under the Assistant Directors area of responsibility.The Assistant Director of Field Operations is expected to demonstrate strong and consistent leadership, in accordance with the goals and objectives of the Infrastructure Division as a whole. As one of the key leaders in the division, the Assistant Director is expected to communicate clearly and effectively around the existing state of the team and their required resources (tools, vehicles, products, etc.) as well as proactively around the future needs and challenges facing the team.The Assistant Director of Field Operations is responsible for the management of each team member. This includes proactively working on the team members career development planning, training, evaluations, disciplinary actions and more in conjunction with other Division leaders and Human Resources. Continued strategic planning to elevate the approach and the output of our teams is essential.Duties and Responsibilities:Department Management: Management of all field personnelMonitor site progress to make sure production deadlines are met and coach crews through delays as neededProvide regular on-site check-ins, evaluation and coachingVerify and monitor that all builds meet engineering standards with support of Operations team and managementCreate a culture of shared ownership with the foremen around the companys vehicles, equipment and team as a wholeEnsure the year-round crews preparedness and buy-in related to training of new recruits and seasonal workforce Responsible for instituting more efficient and safer ways to install, strike and transport equipment when moving from field to another site or back to yardwarehouseCredit card coding for direct reports Labor forecasting and planning annually, quarterly, monthlyManage labor and operating expenses within parameters established in the departments budgetWeeklydaily crew assignmentWork with internal operations and sales teams to identify and communicate key areas of improvement to the crewPlay an active role in production planning for all events and ensure efficient planning of event installations and strikesAccidentincident reporting for vehiclescrewSafety training and monitoring for field crews with support of HR Train foremen to understand our job profit assessment and how it relates to their job specific goals Employee Training and Development:Evaluate personnel for job performance and development and develop a trainingpromotion process; look to promote from within Cross-training of direct reportsQualificationsQualifications include:5 Years directly related experience Bilingual preferred, not required Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organizationExcellent listening and presentation skills Excellent verbal and written communication skillsSelf-Motivated and able to thrive in a results-driven environmentProven ability to manage multiple projects at one time while paying strict attention to detailBuild relationships based on integrity, reliability and maturityMust be organizedMust be able to assess situations and make decisions balancing urgency, risk and quality of potential solutionsdecisionsMust be able to set priorities, develop strategies and solve problemsMust demonstrate strong criticalstrategic thinking skillsAttention to detail and adherence to deadlines
