Job Title: Medical Administrative Assistant (Spanish)Location: New York, NY, 10029Shift: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PMHours: 37.5 hours per week (Guaranteed)Contract Duration: 2+ MonthsPay Rate: $21.25HourJob DescriptionWe are seeking a Medical Administrative Assistant (Spanish-speaking) for a contract position at a reputable medical facility in New York, NY. This role provides both secretarial and clinical support to physicians and surgeons while ensuring the delivery of quality patient care.Responsibilities:Schedule patient appointments and coordinate physician schedules.Take detailed clinical phone messages for physicians or advanced healthcare providers.Obtain insurance authorizations for procedures and tests.Enter orders into the electronic medical record (EMR) system and process prescription refill requests.Maintain logging systems for tracking test results.Assist in medical chart management and ensure HIPAA compliance.Schedule surgeriesprocedures and coordinate pre-admission requirements.If qualified, perform Medical Assistant duties, including venipuncture, EKGs, patient assistance, specimen collection, and vital signs monitoring.Assist physicians with various procedures and relay instructions to patients and families.Prepare and manage physician correspondence, surgical billing documents, and office schedules.Help direct patient flow and support revenue cycle processes.May perform medical scribe responsibilities.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications:Minimum 3 years of related experience in a healthcare setting.Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required if performing clinical duties.Proficiency in medical terminology and HIPAA guidelines.Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) andor billing systems is preferred but not required.Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes.Education:Associate's Degree or High School DiplomaGED plus two years of related experience.Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program if performing clinical duties.Certifications & Licenses:Basic Life Support (BLSCPR) Certification required.Languages:Fluency in English and Spanish is required.
