Job SummaryThe Senior Construction Project Manager is within the Global Design and Construction team (over 200 people) who deliver over 70 projects globally per year (in excess of $2B capex). This role will support both expansion and ground up construction of data centers in the Ashburn, VA region. Directs day to day activities and operations of a team of ConstructionOperation Project Managers. Mentors junior team members and makes strong tactical decisions to resolve project issues. Manages Construction project costs, methods, and project team selection to meet project schedules and goals while working in a multi-faceted environment.OverviewResponsible in all aspects of data center construction for respective projects from project inception, through design, procurement, construction, commissioning and hand-over of an operating facility, that could include ground up construction, fit-outs, remodels, etc. The Project Manager may be responsible for one or more smaller projects or a single, extensive project and will direct all partners, internal (Design, Procurement, Operations, Security and ITNetwork) as well as external vendors comprising Contractors, design teams, commissioning agents, equipment suppliers, etc. Responsible for driving a safe, quality first culture, ensuring that all applicable codes, standards, and good construction practices are followed. Ensuring that internal controls are adhered to at each step of the process through effective contract administration including generation, review, management, and monitoring of prime contracts, subcontracts, change orders, cost forecasts, and other pertinent documents and documentation.ResponsibilitiesManagementProvides guidance to ConstructionOperations Project Managers who are driving the delivery to day-to-day ConstructionOperations projectsSets goals for immediate team membersProject ManagementManages multiple smaller projects or single larger construction projectLead by example on safety, standards, and cultureManage and monitor project progress, quality and compliance with building regulationsEnsuring projects are meeting or exceeding company expectationsOverview and management of project risk registersLeads internal stakeholders in the development of new data center projects from concept to business approvalVendor RelationsDirects external vendors per project comprising general contractors, A&E design teams, commissioning agents, equipment suppliers etc.Contributes to establishing and maintaining high value relationshipsTraining ProgramsSupports in identifying and developing training programsSupports cross-functional trainingContract AdministrationManages contract administration procedures including generation, review, and monitoring of prime contracts, subcontracts, change orders, cost forecasts, and other pertinent documents and documentationLiaising with local authorities and relevant State agencies and departmentsLeadershipDirects internal and external project team members including internal Design, Procurement, Operations, Commercial and ITNetwork support teamsMentors junior team members as needed Policy & Procedure DevelopmentManages maintaining best in class policies and proceduresManages project closure, handover and lessons learnt processes are established and implementedQualificationsBachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering, construction project management and or with equivalent experience10+ years experience in construction project management that includes critical Infrastructure for Data center, Pharmaceutical, Bio-tech or similar environmentsAbility to be on site in Ashburn, VACustomer focusedSelf-motivated and flexibleIn-depth knowledge of relevant statutory regulations and industry best practiceExperienced in construction procurement methodologiesPreferred: proficiency with Microsoft Project, experience developing new data center projects, experience leading an internal cross-functional teamThe United States targeted pay range for this position in the following location is locations are:•San Francisco, CA Bay Area: $157,000 to $235,000 per year•California (Non-SFBay Area), Connecticut, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Washington state: $150,000 to $224,000 per yearOur pay ranges reflect the minimum and maximum target for new hire pay for the full-time position determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is based on additional factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education andor training.This position may be offered in other locations.
