Join our dynamic team as a full-time Financial Business Manager! As the Financial Business Manager, you will oversee the handling of all district funds and ensure the precise preparation of financial reports and statements for the District's Board of Trustees, among others. Your responsibilities will involve managing the entire office workflow related to customer accounts which includes: billing processes, payment handling, service requests, sending out final notices for accounts in delinquency, and responding to customer inquiries and complaints. You will also be tasked with bookkeeping duties concerning accounts receivables, issuing invoices, managing accounts payable transactions, handling payroll functions, and ensuring the general ledger is accurately balanced throughout the financial periods.Moreover, you will be responsible for managing the financial reporting components of the district, which include compiling and reconciling budgets, ensuring that the recording and analysis of revenue and expenses are accurately conducted. You will investigate and rectify accounting discrepancies, generate quarterly and annual payroll reports for government compliance, perform monthly bank statement reconciliations, and provide necessary financial data required for rate analysis. Additionally, you will assist the District's accounting firm in the annual preparation of audited financial statements, and ensure submission of the Annual Report for Water Utilities to the Maine Public Utilities Commission.Duties and Responsibilities:Expertly prepare and manage complex accounting data while generating thorough financial reports.Possess knowledge of banking protocols and investment analysis, including cash flow assessments.Oversee comprehensive customer account management tasks including billing and payment facilitation, service application processes, and water disconnection notifications.Deliver administrative aid to the department, managing customer communications, inquiries, and complaints, among other dutiesSupervise bookkeeping operations related to accounts receivable, invoicing, accounts payable and payroll entriesFulfill additional tasks as assigned by the SuperintendentQualifications and Skills:Accounting management experience: 5- 10 years (Preferred)An Accounting or Business Degree is preferred, or equivalent experience.Proficient in databases and accounting software; ability to quickly learn new systems. Familiarity with Northern Data Systems Inc., Invision General Ledger and Edifice Utility Billing Software is advantageous.Understanding of the Maine Public Utilities Commission Uniform System of Accounts for Water Utilities a plus.Ability to learn and navigate office protocols relating to Department, Town, State, and Federal rules and regulations.Exhibit teamwork abilities, and build relationships with peers, town officials, business partners, and the public.
