CAD Technician I

Position Description: CAD Technician ILocation: 720 Butterfield Rd STE 200 Lombard, IL 60148Primary Function:Perform drafting duties using basic drafting skills and techniques for mediumhigh voltage substation or transmission line drawings. Assignments are closely supervised and are designed to develop the employee's understanding of drafting techniques, corporateclient standards, and procedures. Drafters will either be dedicated to Electrical, Transmission, or CivilStructural design projects.Duties & ResponsibilitiesEmployee may be called upon to perform any or all of the following functions:•Revise CADD drawings per engineering markups•Perform engineering support tasks under direct supervision (e.g. transmittals)•Learn and apply the corporateclient standard of drafting and engineering practices•Learn and properly use document management systems•Take personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of hisher work•Bring potential project-related problems and possible solutions to the attention of the responsible party•Travel out of town for short periods of time as required by projects and assignments•Perform other duties as assignedMinimum Qualifications ExperienceAssociates degree in drafting & design is required. A certificate in drafting & design with relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of an associate's degree.Possess skills in the following areas:Experience with AutoCAD 2010 and newer is required.Experience with Microstation preferred but not required3D CADD experience preferred but not requiredBasic drafting including drawing scales, drawing layouts (PaperspaceModelspace), and accurately reproducing engineering markupsCADD, word processing, spreadsheet, and e-mail softwareCollege level geometryAbility to work in a team environmentAbility to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, with co-workerWorking ConditionsThis position requires minimal physical effort.Must be able to endure prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer for a minimum of 8 hours a dayWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee will primarily work indoors, with occasional outdoor exposure to year around weather conditions and noise.If off-site visits are required, the employee will provide their own steel-toed work boots - the Company will provide all other PPE as neededWorking extended hours, including weekends, though rare, may be required periodically.May occasionally lift up to 25 pounds at a time.Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions as defined per Company policy.Equal Employment OpportunityDashiell Corporation is an equal opportunity workplace.
