POSITION SUMMARYChinatown YMCA is seeking a Preschool Teacher for the Infants & Toddlers classroom at the Tung Lok Early Childhood Learning Center - 75 Vallejo St, San Francisco, CA 94111The Preschool Teacher is part of a team which provides a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for all children enrolled in our program at the YMCA Preschool. Under the supervision of the Child Development Director and Preschool Coordinator, the Preschool Teacher will actively participate and help plan all activities scheduled. The Preschool Teacher will supervise and support Assistant Teachers, volunteers, andor substitutes when needed. The position is responsible for building and maintaining positive relationships with families being served at the YMCA. The preschool Teacher must have a positive attitude and model appropriate behavior when dealing with children. The Preschool Teacher must observe and follow all regulations set forth by Community Care Licensing as well as instructions given by the Site Coordinator. Salary Range: $29-$31hourMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 21 years or olderMust be available Monday - Friday during program hours; 8 hoursday, 40 hoursweek (ECE is a year-round program)350+ days of experience in a childcare setting, 3+ hours per day within 4 yearsMust be qualified for Teacher Permit or higher (24 ECE core, plus 16 GE) Strong interpersonal and verbalwritten communication skillsExperience with MS Word and ExcelYMCA approved CPRFirst Aid certificationProvide TB clearance prior to hire and every 2 years thereafterSubmit proof of Immunizations for Influenza, Pertussis, and MeaslesSubmit Physical Health Clearance prior to hire and every 2 years thereafterFingerprint background check clearance through Community Care LicensingPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSAABA Degree in ECE, Child Development or relatedSome experience working for YMCABilingual skills in Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, or other languagesKnowledge of DRDP, NAEYC, PITC, Anti-Bias Curriculum, Emergent Curriculum and Reggio Emilia
