Counter people are responsible for guiding guests through the food menu and experience. Eli's counter people are expected to give service that is knowledgeable, approachable, efficient, energetic, and thoughtful while upholding company standards and values in a busy, fast paced environment.Essential FunctionsOversee and guide guest's complete food ordering experienceProvide knowledgeable, approachable, efficient, energetic, and thoughtful service at all timesFull knowledge of food menu items including the major components of a dish; this may include ingredients and their source, simple descriptions of unfamiliar ingredients, preparation, andor execution of correct food and beverage serviceProperly notify the kitchen and management of any guest allergiesThoroughly explain to guests the food service style of the restaurant and its workings while effectively communicating to the guest what they can expect when their meal is readyAdhere to all company service standards and protocolsConfident and correct use of POS system for order entry and payment processingEnsure food arrives to guests quickly and correctly; and confirming guest satisfactionAnswering phones and responding to questions in all aspects concerning the storeKeeping track of orders placed onlineMaintain a sanitary environment for incoming and outgoing guestsLabel and package to go items pertaining to pre-order takeoutEnsure guests are charged correctly and receive proof of payment in a timely mannerCommunicate respectfully with chefs (and kitchen team) as necessarySupport team members in the completion of their duties to ensure satisfaction of all guests before, during, and after serviceEngage management for any guest issue or complaintAssist in maintaining the cleanliness of service tools and service areasStocking and preparing service related itemsAdhere to grooming and dress code standardsRequirements Minimum 1 year counter experience in a high volume environmentStrong food knowledge and a passion for the service industryExcellent communication, interpersonal skills, and a collaborative attitudeMust possess exceptional work ethic, strong attention to detail, strong multi-tasking & organizational skills, and a collaborative attitudeReceptive to constructive criticism and performance feedbackAbility to demonstrate quick thinking and adaptability in a constantly changing environmentBeer and wine knowledge preferredPhysical DemandsThe physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, frequently lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, standing, for 4 to 8 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours.
