Project Geotechnical Engineer

Description Your role at GEI. GEI's New York City office is seeking a motivated & experienced geotechnical engineer to assist on a variety of projects throughout the region. Project types will include residential and commercial buildings, infrastructure and transportation, dams and levees, and waterfront development. Essential Responsibilities & Duties Perform geotechnical analysis and design, and present data and results. Observe and manage field explorations and construction activities. Design and implement geotechnical instrumentation projects. Assist in preparing full design packages with calculations, drawings, and specifications. Assist in overseeing construction of specialty geotechnical items such as deep foundations, tiebacks, and grouting among others. Write letters and reports. Develop proposals and participate in other business development activities. Minimum Qualifications B.S. in Civil Engineering. Geotechnical course work required. 3 to 5 years of experience. Must have passed the F.E. exam. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Willingness to travel on temporary assignments as needed. Must have a valid U.S. driver's license. Ability to perform field work on active construction sites without restrictions, and in inclement weather if required. Preferred Qualifications: M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering preferred. Structural course work a plus. Professional Engineer's license preferred. We are GEI.
