Job Type Full-timeDescriptionPOSITION SUMMARY:The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for all plant accounting functions, including financial reporting, financial reporting, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, internal controls designed to mitigate risk, budgeting, and forecasting, and ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, act in a manner that serves others, and develop strong relationships through open communication.The position reports directly to the Regional Controller and will strongly partner with the Plant Manager and the rest of the plant management team.This position is a full-time role in Glen Burnie, MD, with the ability to work from home two days a week after training.This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. citizen status. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:Provide timely and accurate financial information and performance measurements to management (month-end close, annual close, ad hoc reporting)Monitor and report variances to plan, projections, and key effectiveness measuresProcess billing and maintain accounts receivablesProvide support for accounts payable & payrollProvide financial analysis and guidance for capital investmentsMonitor proper valuation of inventoriesParticipate in the development of operational plans in accordance with overall financial goalsSupport the annual audit and tax preparation activitiesEffective communication skills to internal team members and external partnersManage and execute continuous improvements on processesSupport Corporate HR with various tasks such as benefit-cost analysis and employee notificationsOther duties as assigned RequirementsSKILL REQUIREMENTS:Advanced computer skills with high proficiency in excel spreadsheets.Working in financial reporting and ERP systems (Infor Syteline preferred)Strong attention to detailAble to work in a dynamic environment with changing priorities to exceed employee expectationsWork independently, strong work ethic, is self-motivated and able to complete tasks with minimal supervision Ability to lead and work on cross-functional teams to support the core business, ensuring quality products are delivered on timeHigh computer aptitude (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel)Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language Must be a team player and willing to learn new skills and conceptsQUALIFICATIONS:2-5 of working in a manufacturing environment5+ years of experience in finance or accounting fieldMinimum bachelor's degree in finance or accounting or equivalentCandidate must be eligible to work in the United States without company sponsorship and must be an eligible U.S. PersonExperience operating in a traditional or additive manufacturing organization preferredExperience within commercial space, aerospace, or defense industry considered a plusBENEFITS START ON DAY 1:Medical, Dental, and Vision plansLife Insurance, Long & Short-Term DisabilityFlexible Spending Account and Dependent Care Spending Account401(k) Retirement with Company MatchEmployee Assistance Program Paid time off and 10 paid holidays (including your birthday)Paid parental leaveAdditional opt in offerings WORK ENVIRONMENT:This job operates in a professional additive manufacturing, traditional manufacturing and office environment.
