Job Type Full-timeDescriptionArtisan Foot and Ankle Specialists is an innovative podiatry practice in Orange County that fosters a warm environment where our focus is on a commitment to patient education and treatment options are discussed in an open conversation. We have 2 convenient locations in Mission Viejo and Laguna Hills.Our team is looking for a hard-working medical assistant who will work with the physicians and other members of the practice by performing a variety of clinical and administrative duties. This person will work to fulfill patient needs and ensure smooth patient flow within the practice.Duties and ResponsibilitiesGreet patients on the phone and in personPlace patients in the exam roomsTake vital signs of patientsAssist and setup up for examination, treatment, and proceduresKeep accurate patient filesApply dressing, bandages, and splints as ordered by podiatristTake inventory as neededMaintain a sanitized and safe working environmentMaintain HIPAAAdditional clinical and administrative duties as required Requirements Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervisionStrong computer skills and use of Microsoft OfficeKnowledge of basic medical procedures such as dressing a woundStrong communication skills and ability to actively listenKnowledge of medical terminology and anatomyStrong organizational and clerical skills to maintain patient files and perform office dutiesCustomer services skillsKnowledge of safety and sanitation proceduresEducation and Experience High School Diploma or EquivalentCertification from an approved medical assistant program or equivalent combination of trainingEMR Experience, Athena experience is a plusCurrent American Heart Association CPR CertificationPhysical RequirementsThis job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of duties or responsibilities required by the employee.
