We are looking for a Construction Project Accountant for a well regarded High End Residential Construction company with an office in Long Island City.You will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial records for our projects and for overseeing the financial aspects of a project as it progresses. Responsibilities include analyzing and approving outgoing expenses, issuing bills, collecting payments from clients, and working with auditors. This role serves to streamline financial processes to ensure the timely and efficient completion of projects.Responsibilities:Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor or other project managers as required.Providing project managers and clients with timely financial reports and budgets, as well as project forecasts.Collect monthly subcontractor payment applications, review for accuracy, and prepare for Project Manager municate consistently and effectively with subcontractors to reconcile pay application status with respect to original contracts, change orders, and pending change ordersEstablish and maintain a positive working relationship with all subcontractor, supplier, and vendor representativesCreate monthly owner Invoice and submit together with the backup required based on the ownercontractReview all subcontractor and supplier preliminary lien waivers for accuracyReviewing budgets, including staffing, work plans, and fee structures.Preparing pre-billing reports for project managers to review.Preparing actual costs, working capital, and tax reports.Monitoring receivable income and supporting project managers with collections.Ensuring a steady cash flow by generating, auditing, and sending invoices in a timely manner.Updating contracts according to client requirements and reporting associated budget amendments.QualificationsStrong computer technical skills with proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications.Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Accounting, Economics, Finance, Business or related field preferredStrong written and verbal skills; communicates effectively with management, employees, customers and vendors.Experience in Quickbooks requiredExperience in the construction industry and job cost accounting necessaryStrong financial aptitude and attention to detailResults-orientated with proven ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to meet deadlines
