Our client, a leading manufacturer of aviation and avionics equipment, is seeking a Cost Accountant to join their team based in Clearwater, FL. This is an incredible opportunity for a Cost Accountant to be involved in a highly visible position while earning the opportunity to become a Manager quickly. The Cost Accountant must be technically strong, comfortable taking ownership of their respective financials, and be familiar with cost accounting principles and concepts. SalaryHourly Rate: $75k - $85k Position Overview: The Cost Accountant will report directly to the Controller and primarily assist in the general assurance that accounting is accurate, specifically during month close. The Controller will serve as a lead on the cost accounting function. Supported by a team, you will be instrumental in documenting procedures and establishing internal controls. Responsibilities of the Cost Accountant: Prepares and processes journal entries and reconciliations monthly. Responsible for analysis of inventory and fixed assets. Assists with planning, collecting, and analyzing data to determine the costs of business activity. Performs dailyweekly review of job cost and respective entries within the GL and continually monitors and corrects job cost through variance analysis. Maintains fixed assets in the ERP system, Construction in Progress, and accounts for new additions of disposition of assets and reporting. Supports the annual budgeting and planning process and participates in periodic audits as scheduled. Required ExperienceSkills for the Cost Accountant: Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Onstream, Exact Max, Great PlainsMicrosoft Dynamics, Expensify, and Blackline. Organization, attention to detail, and sense of urgency. Extensive internal and external customer communication. Must be able to make independent decisions on routine office activities. Preferred ExperienceSkills for the Cost Accountant: 3 - 5 years of experience in cost accounting. Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent related business degree.
